STN 00 — The Door

Serious training.Zero intimidation.

Chalk on the platforms, dogs on the floor, a family named King at the desk. Three gyms across Calgary, open every hour of every day — on a membership you can pause or cancel anytime.

STN 01 — The Platforms

Chalk up. Load heavy. Drop the bar.

Olympic platforms, calibrated plates, competition-spec racks and specialty bars — and nobody asking you to keep it down. This floor was built by a competitive lifter because the commercial gyms wouldn’t allow the training.

Pressing on a royal blue Atlantis machine

Blue steel, wall to wall.

The machines here are royal blue for a reason — it’s the house colour, and the house takes equipment seriously. Atlantis and Defiant machine rows, dumbbells past the century mark, cable stacks, cardio, conditioning tools.

Beginners get a hand without asking twice. Competitors get depth they can’t outgrow. The reviews keep saying the same thing: everyone’s welcome on this floor.

STN 04 — The Night

The 3 a.m. set counts too.

Your fob works every hour of every day, all year. Early flights, night shifts, new-parent windows, insomnia PRs — the floor is yours when your life says so, not when a front desk does.

STN 05 — The New Wing · Downtown

Downtown just got a serious gym.

717 6 Ave SW, main floor. Towel service, hot saunas, premium changerooms — and the same rule as every Kings floor: real training welcome. Twenty minutes of lunch break is enough.

Why now

The core is refilling — Calgary’s office-conversion program is turning twenty-one downtown towers into 2,667 new homes. If you’re moving in, your gym is already here.

STN 06 — The Family

King is a surname, not a boast.

Leo King grew up in Southampton, England, landed in Calgary at nineteen, and took a kinesiology degree at the University of Calgary. He competes as a WNBF Professional natural bodybuilder and a raw powerlifter — and in 2013 he started training clients because commercial gyms kept getting in the way.

The first Kings floor opened in 2015. Now there are three, run with Charlotte — and the owners still answer the reviews, know the regulars, and walk the tours themselves.

“Whether you are a pro or beginner, you always feel welcome.”

“The owners couldn’t be nicer people — and it’s dog friendly as well.”
